The NetTech Center opened in 1993 as the Shenandoah Valley Telecommuting Center in downtown Winchester. It has gone through several changes and today operates as the NetTech Center of Winchester at 2281 Valley Avenue in Winchester, VA.The NetTech Center is a project of the Winchester/Frederick County Economic Development Commission (EDC). The EDC contracts with US General Services Administration (GSA) to operate the center. When it first opened, the center was only available to Federal workers. Congress mandated the centers with the support of Congressman Frank Wolf. We were the first such center in the United States. After several years, Congress opened the centers to the private sector, as well. We now cater to Federal Teleworkers, Non-Federal teleworkers and Small Businesses. The center is comprised of mostly private and semi-private offices. We also have two open cubicle workstations and four Personal Harbors. Other amenities include two conference rooms and a kitchen. All the office equipment you need to be successful is available including copiers, laser printers, fax machines and a shredder. Each workspace is fully equipped with furniture, digital phones and voice mail, current computers, super-fast fiber internet connection and homey touches with plants, lamps and framed art. The Center is staffed during normal business hours and is capable of handling a multitude of administrative and technical issues. You can count on us. Our mission for telework is to help reduce traffic, air emissions, drivers stress and to increase the quality of life for our clients. Our mission for small businesses is to provide a professionally appointed office with the tools to reduce the burden of our clients with everyday issues in their office environment. |
